This is a parlor LARP game about humans who believe they’re vampires. No LARP experience is needed, and there are no numbers to crunch or stats to keep track of- everything is driven by the choices you make as your character in the shared story!
You’ll be given a pre-written character after filling out a character preference casting survey. Everything you need to play will be provided at the door. If you’re not sure what to wear, something black will do.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a vampire LARP?
No! It’s about the “real vampyre community,” which is a real subculture of humans who believe they’re vampires. Here’s a great video essay about them!
Does this use VtM/WoD mechanics?
Nope, it’s all freeform, with only one mechanic to keep track of: you can accuse people of being posers, and you have a power that can deflect accusations of poser-ness.
Do I make my own character?
Nope, you’ll fill out a survey and I’ll send you a pre-written character that matches the kind of gameplay you say you want. You’ll have pre-written goals, ties to other characters, and a backstory.
What do I do for costuming?
Each sheet will have costuming hints available. For example, an electro-industrial DJ would have costume notes suggesting neon accents, PVC and latex, stompy boots, etc, while the werewolf would have costume notes suggesting fur and bone accessories and a more grungy look. Costume notes are generally optional suggestions, and costume preferences will be a question on the survey. If you’re not sure what to wear, just wear something black, there will also be borrow-able accessories!
Where and when does this take place?
This takes place in the suburbs outside of Bridgeport, CT in the current year.
Is this a sequel to the online game?
Nope, it’s its own alternate universe, with the same characters facing the same scenario. The online game has them dealing with electing a new council in 2009; the in-person game has them electing a new council in 2025 in a different universe continuity.
You are a human being. You live in a suburban house and have a boring day job. But by night, a new side of you awakens. Or at least that’s what you, members of the Bridgeport Order of Blood (BOOB), tell each other. You are a member of New England’s third-largest Real Vampyre Society. You are navigating this spoooooooky, bloody night-side community of old goths, fighting each other for clout, recognition, and a place on the Vampyric Council.
Bob, aka Asmodeus Abyss, The High Magister who leads the Vampyric Council and Court as a whole, has just moved to Florida so he could go to Disney World every day, leading to a power vacuum in the BOOB Court. There also is a long-standing rivalry against Bridgeport Underground Nocturnal Society (BUNS), slowly simmering just below the threshold of an all-out vampire war.
Tonight, you dance, drink, feed, and vote on a new Vampyric Council. What will the night bring for these edgy New Englanders?
This is a game that blends humor and satire about people you’d find at a goth club with the politics and intrigue of something along the lines of Vampire: the Masquerade. You can play a character who’s more of a blatant joke (such as somebody who believes that a DEVO energy dome hat is a tool of psychic vampyrism), a character that’s written as more of a straight-faced political character within this setting (such as somebody trying to broker a peace treaty between the two rival Vampyre Courts), or a character who’s somewhere in-between. This game is not intended to be super-intense or grim, but despite it’s goofier premise and setting, is still a game with some elements of political intrigue and themes of power in group dynamics. While the premise is satirical, the characters, in-game, are (mostly) (un)dead serious about being vampires, and not being LARPers.

Accessibility notes:
